If you’ve ever had the pleasure of sitting across from Rose Jean Louis, you’ve likely walked away thinking clearer, dreaming bigger, and feeling more confident in your next step. A seasoned systems engineer, product leader, and proud Women in Tech & Entrepreneurship (WTE) board member, Rose is launching her next bold chapter — as founder of Enginuiti, a company built to bring clarity and cohesion to complex programs and products.
With a background spanning defense, aerospace, and data analytics, Rose has spent the last six years translating complexity into alignment. She’s led cross-functional teams, mentored rising talent, and earned a reputation for tackling chaos with grace. Now, with Enginuiti, she’s turning her signature systems thinking into a service — helping small and mid-sized companies define what success looks like and build toward it with intention.
We sat down with Rose to talk about her journey, her philosophy of leadership, and what it means to build something new with integrity, insight, and impact.
Q&A with Rose Jean Louis
You’ve worked across high-stakes industries like defense, aerospace, and data analytics. What drew you to systems engineering, and what continues to excite you about building complex systems in highly regulated spaces?
"I can’t say I was exactly initially drawn to Systems Engineering. I studied Mechanical Engineering, hoping I would eventually launch my own company performing R&D for BioMechanical devices. When I got my first job as a Systems Engineer, I had absolutely no idea what it meant but I quickly fell in love with it. The process of bringing several components together to create a grander picture continues to excite me to this day. As someone who loves dabbling in quite literally everything, the SE process from start to finish allows me to possess a general understanding of several disciplines to define the performance of complex systems."
You’ve led cross-functional teams and developed systems that impact entire organizations. What do you think makes a great product or systems leader in today’s tech landscape?
"That which makes for a great Product or Systems Leader is the ability to listen and ask the right questions. This fosters one’s ability to understand the broader context and interconnection of issues."
You’re a systems thinker and a people-first leader. What do you believe makes a product truly great — and how do you build teams that can deliver on that vision?
"A great product is one which solves real problems/needs – minor or otherwise. My leadership style is collaborative, ambitious, and adaptable — grounded in the belief that teams do their best work when there’s clear expectations, shared vision, healthy communication, and room to grow."
You’re known not only for your technical expertise, but for your commitment to mentorship. Why is mentorship such a core part of your journey and what’s one piece of advice you often share with aspiring tech leaders/entrepreneurs?
"I was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti — a country where community is the stronghold that keeps us alive. This community worked tirelessly to ensure that I, along with many others, would have a brighter future. Mentorship is such an important part of my journey strictly because without it, my journey would have been nonexistent. If I have seen further it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants.
The one piece of advice that I have for aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs is to just start. Whatever it is, it need not be perfect. You simply need to start somewhere."
What emerging technologies are you most excited about and where do you see the biggest opportunities for systems leaders to drive real-world impact through these technologies?
"Personally, I am really excited about the integration of AI in prosthetic devices, particularly brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). One of the biggest opportunities for Systems Leaders to drive real world impact is at the intersection of SE and AI ethics – in driving the ethical use/integration of AI. Ensuring that AI is developed and used responsibly will require an SE approach that considers the ethical implications from the beginning."
We hear you may be working on a new venture, Enginuiti. What inspired the idea — and how are you approaching this next chapter as a founder?
"Yes, I am incredibly excited about it! So, I had a job where we essentially got paid to do whatever we wanted. It sounded great initially, but it was essentially an absent customer base marked as freedom. The company indeed had a customer but could not figure out how to translate the customer needs. After months of back and forth, mostly complaining on my end, about the lack of clear requirements and customer input, I decided to branch out on my own.
Enginuiti will support small and medium sized companies reach their programmatic goals through a tailored SE approach. Enginuiti partners with teams at any stage of development — translating stakeholder needs into actionable roadmaps, driving alignment across disciplines, and supporting delivery from planning through sustainment. We’re not there to wait for the customer to figure out what they want, we help them figure it out. We’re operators — embedded, invested, and outcome-oriented.
I am really excited for this next chapter as a founder! I am approaching this new chapter of my life with the tiniest bit of fear and lots of fervor."
